Wayne M. Densch Charities Inc.

The non-profit organization was founded in 1992 and serves individuals who are homeless, elderly or poor in the Central Florida area. The charity is known for treating young people to lower bowl seats at Magic games and delivering Christmas presents to Medicaid patients in nursing homes.

United Arts of Central Florida

United Arts of Central Florida is a dynamic collaboration of businesses, governments, foundations, arts and cultural organizations, school districts, artists, and individuals. This partnership works to enhance the quality and variety of cultural experiences available throughout Lake, Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties. Since its inception in 1989, United Arts has invested more than $121 million in local cultural organizations and cultural education. United Arts envisions a diverse, well-attended, fiscally sound arts and cultural community that serves residents and visitors to the Central Florida region. Seminole County

On July 21, 1821, there were two counties that formed Florida: Escambia to the west and St. Johns to the east. In 1824, the area to the south of St. Johns County was designated Mosquito County, with its seat at Enterprise. The county’s name was changed to Orange County in 1845 when Florida became a state, and over the next 70 years several other counties were created. Seminole County was one of the last to split.  Seminole County was created on April 25, 1913 out of part of the northern portion of Orange County by the Florida Legislature. It was named for the Seminole people who historically lived throughout the area. The name “Seminole” is thought to be derived from the Spanish word cimarron, meaning “wild” or “runaway.”

Seminole Cultural Arts Council

Formed in 1994, the Seminole Cultural Arts Council is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a Member of the Florida Association of Local Arts Agencies and ACE (Arts for a Complete Education).  SCAC is a catalyst for the preservation of local cultural and historic heritage, including performing, literary, visual arts and sciences; serving to sustain, develop and advance the cultural life of Seminole County.  Its mission is to serve, support and nurture the cultural and artistic needs of the county.
